Conversion in Digital Marketing

August 16, 2022

I really like using Google to find out what people are thinking.

In the search bar, I typed Conversion in Digital Marketing and immediately noticed the session called People Also Ask.

Under that sentence, I found some of the most common questions on this topic, and yes, I do have an opinion about it.

Please, read my point of view at the end of this post.

What Is Conversion In Marketing?

Conversion is the percentage of people who take the desired action.

Conversion rate is a metric in marketing. It measures how many people complete an action, like buying something or signing up (after they’ve seen your marketing message).

What Are the Types of Conversion In Digital Marketing?

Conversion is the process of turning a visitor into a customer. The four types are:

Purchase Conversion

It is when a visitor visits your website, makes a purchase, and you receive payment.

Lead Conversion

It is when a person fills out a form on your website to subscribe to your newsletter or enter their contact information so that you can follow up later.

Engagement Conversion

It involves a user interacting with your website, such as when they like a post or share it on social media.

Ad recall

it is when a person sees an ad on your website and remembers that brand.

What Is a Conversion Strategy?

A conversion strategy is a plan of action that helps convert a website visitor into a customer.

A conversion strategy is a process of converting potential customers into actual customers. It convinces the potential customer to take some desired action, like fill out a form, purchase an item, or subscribe to an email list.

What Are Examples of Conversion?

As I have mentioned above, Conversion is the process of changing from one state to another. In marketing, it is the action that leads a visitor to act the way you want them to. Examples are a visitor clicking on an ad and visiting your website, a visitor filling out a form on your website, and a visitor buying your product or service.

Conversion Rates

I decided by myself that I should include Conversion Rates in this conversation. They are crucial information for Marketing Analysts. If you want to measure success, you must understand it.

A conversion rate is the number of visitors who take an action divided by the total number of visitors and multiplied by 100.

For example, if you have 1,000 visitors and 20 people click on your ad, your conversion rate is 2%. In general, a higher conversion rate means that you are doing better than average.
